Tampa Beats Host SF State Behind Rachel Gregg's 10 Block Performance

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - Rachel Gregg records a career-high 10 blocks as Tampa is victorious over No. 23 San Francisco State.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

First Set: Tampa would get out to a fast start, but the first set would be tight for most of it. Tampa trailed by just one point towards the end of the set. A service error by SF State would tie the game up at 21, with Tampa going on to score the next four points to clinch the set.  | Score: 25-21 Tampa

Second Set: The Spartans fell behind early. The team found itself trailing midway through the first set 16-10, but would fight back. A block by Gregg and Laney Perdue kick-started a comeback as the team went on to tally five consecutive points to trail 16-14. Despite efforts to make a comeback, the Spartans would not lead in the second set at any point and would drop the set.  | Score 25-22 SF State

Third Set: The team started fast, just like the first set, scoring six of the first eight points. Setter Jenna Glaudel added a kill, and Perdue chipped in with a service ace. The Spartans would continue their momentum, extending their lead at one point to 14. | Score: 25-13 Tampa

Fourth Set: The Spartans led 14-7 and would not look back. Mak Carter had a kill to increase Tampa's lead. Tess Schrenger added one of her 11 kills to extend the UTampa lead to 21-12. The Spartans would continue to dominate and finish the match, taking down another ranked opponent.  | Score: 25-15 Tampa
