University of Tampa Places 29 Swimmers on CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams; Both Programs Earn Team Academic Honors
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming programs continued their tradition of excellence in the classroom as 29 student-athletes earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honors for the 2025-26 academic year. Additionally, both Spartan programs were recognized as CSCAA Spring Scholar All-America Teams for their academic achievement during the spring semester.
The Spartan women's team had 19 student-athletes recognized, while the men's program placed 10 swimmers on the Scholar All-America teams. Tampa's women's team also posted a 3.65 team GPA during the spring semester, while the men's team recorded a 3.20 GPA, both surpassing the 3.00 threshold required for team recognition.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America status, student-athletes must maintain a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and compete at their respective national championships. Second-Team selections must also own a GPA of at least 3.50 while achieving an NCAA "B" qualifying standard or qualifying for a diving zone meet. More than 2,230 swimmers and divers from across the country earned Scholar All-America recognition during the 2025-26 academic year.
The University of Tampa women's honorees included First-Team Scholar All-Americans Burlingtyn Bokos (Advertising), Caroline Byers (Exercise Science), Caroline Foltz (Marketing), Avery Frece (Marketing), Laura Hodgson (Finance), Laney Jones (Nursing), Hannah-Claire Jowers (Music), Sofia Krstolic (Exercise Science), Lindsey Louder (Exercise Science), Kim McCaffrey (Nursing), Sidni Meister (Exercise Science), Tilde Morin (Environmental Studies), Madalee Roberts (Marketing), and Alicia Soderlind (International Business Management). Second-Team selections were Lainey Blase (Communications), Katharina Hibbeln (Exercise Science), Katie Ramsey (Entrepreneurial Studies), Stephanie Vogt (Criminology), and Alyssa Webb (Advertising).
The men's First-Team Scholar All-Americans were Rufus Bernhardt (International Business Management), Barnabas Fluck (International Business Management), Mathias Holmann (International Business Management), Josh Noll (Finance), River Streefland (Computer & Information Technology), and Elliot Weisel (Accounting). Second-Team selections included Benny Castro (Computer & Information Science), Diego Dulieu (International Business Management), Hudson Evans (Accounting), and Kasparas Venslauskas (International Business Management).
The team academic honors cap another historic season for Tampa Swimming. The Spartan men captured the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championship, while the women's team finished as the national runner-up, showcasing the program's commitment to excellence both in the pool and in the classroom.
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's first organization of college swimming and diving coaches and works to advance the sport through leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The CSCAA Scholar All-America Team program recognizes collegiate swimming and diving programs that have achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher during the semester.
