TAMPA SWIMMING FINISHES AS NATIONAL RUNNER-UP, WHILE 400 FREESTYLE RELAY SETS SCHOOL RECORD ON FINAL NIGHT IN EVANSVILLE
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams wrapped up action at the 2026 NCAA Swimming & Diving National Championship this evening, highlighted by the Tampa Men winning the 2026 NCAA National Championship. On the women's side, the Spartans finished as National Runner-Up, the highest finish for the program since 1988.
The Men's Swimming National Championship is the second in program history for the Spartans, and the second title in the last three seasons. On top of the team National Championship, the 400 Freestyle Relay team of Tibor Tistan, Riccardo Pandin, Jacob Hamlin, and Nick Cavic won the National Title, making it a complete sweep of the relay titles for Tampa.
National Championship-winning head Coach Jimi Kiner on his team's performance this week, "They just came out and let it rip. They knew what they needed to do, and even at night, they stepped up, and it was absolutely amazing."

In the 1650 freestyle, Jacob Hamlin finished as the National Runner-Up with a final time of 15:00.42. Barnabas Fluck picked up a 10th-place finish, hitting the touchpad at 15:22.70.

In the 100 freestyle, Tibor Tistan swam to a sixth-place finish, putting up a final time of 42.95. In the consolation final, Riccardo Pandin finished in first place to finish ninth overall, 43.32.

William Beckstead-Holman picked up another All-American selection with his fourth-place finish in the 200 backstroke, 1:43.90. He was joined in the championship final by Joshua Noll, who finished in seventh place with a final time of 1:44.96.

The 200 breaststroke saw Britton Spann pick up his first All-American selection thanks to a fourth-place finish, touching in a new school record 1:55.57. Freshman Cody Ano also made his way to the podium, swimming to sixth place with a final time of 1:56.93.

The 400 freestyle relay team of Tibor Tistan, Riccardo Pandin, Jacob Hamlin, and Nick Cavic won the National Championship in a new school record time of 2:51.14.

Burly Bokos picked up a seventh-place finish in the 1650 freestyle, swimming a final time of 16:53.18. Laura Hodgson used a dominant morning swim to finish in eighth place, 16:55.33.

In the 100 freestyle, Tilde Morin swam to Honorable Mention All-American honors with her 10th place finish, she hit the wall at 49.71, a new school record.

Sidni Meister was selected as an All-American in the backstroke events with her National Runner-Up finish in the 200 backstroke; her time of 1:57.29 set a new school record. She was joined in the championship final by Lindsey Louder, who swam to fifth place, stopping the clock at 1:58.22. Kimberly McCaffrey closed out her swimming career with a win in the consolation final (9th place), putting up a final time of 1:59.35. Carlie Tyler swam to a 16th-place finish overall with her performance in the consolation final, 2:02.06.

In the 200 breaststroke, Caroline Foltz swam to a ninth-place finish with her swim in the consolation final, 2:15.02. McCall Freiburger also added Honorable Mention All-American honors with her 13th-place finish, hitting the wall with a final time of 2:16.93.

The team of Avery Frece, Lindsey Louder, Madalee Roberts, and Tilde Morin put together a strong showing in the 400 freestyle relay to close out the meet, finishing in third place with a new school record time of 3:20.19.
