Wild Card Meet Goes to Tampa in Matchup With Keiser
TAMPA, Fla. — The University of Tampa swimming programs delivered a dominant performance at the Wild Card Meet against Keiser University on Friday, sweeping both the men's and women's team titles and showcasing depth across the lineup.
The Spartans combined for a 255–145 victory overall, with the women claiming a 133.5–66.5 win and the men securing a 121.5–78.5 decision. Tampa consistently controlled the meet from the opening relays through the final events, winning the majority of individual races and relays.
On the women's side, Tampa shined in the freestyle and backstroke events while also piling up points in the relays. Avery Frece led the way with an individual win in the 200 freestyle and contributed to relay victories, while Sara Safranko swept the sprint freestyle events and anchored a winning relay. Kim McCaffrey and Lindsey Louder paced a strong backstroke showing, finishing first and second in the 100 backstroke. Sofia Krstolic added a decisive victory in the 200 butterfly, and Tampa's depth was on full display with multiple top-five finishes across distance events.
The men's team controlled the meet with standout performances in the IM, freestyle, and relay events. Nick Cavic was a key contributor, winning the 200 individual medley and adding a runner-up finish in the 200 butterfly. Elliot Weisel earned an individual victory in the 500 freestyle, while Josh Noll captured the 200 freestyle. Tampa also swept the top four spots in the men's 100 freestyle, led by Aidan Clements. The Spartans capped the meet with strong relay performances, winning multiple freestyle relay events.
