Caroline Foltz, Jacob Hamlin Take Gold in Day Two as Tampa Swimming Stays Atop Standings
OCALA, Fla. – The University of Tampa swimming programs extended their lead on both the men's and women's sides during day two of the Sunshine State Conference Championships, powered by a distance sweep, an individual title, and deep scoring depth across all events.

Top Tampa Performers (Men)
- 1,000 Freestyle: Jacob Hamlin dominated the men's distance field, winning the event in 9:00.05. Elliot Weisel followed with a strong second‑place finish, touching in 9:03.26. Freshman Julian Ithier placed third with a time of 9:09.14, continuing Tampa's surge at the top of the standings. Senior Barnabas Fluck completed the podium sweep by claiming fourth in 9:10.74. Aidan Clements added additional points with a ninth‑place finish in 9:23.29.
- 200 Individual Medley: William Beckstead-Holman led the Spartans in this event by earning a silver medal in 1:45.52. Freshman Nick Cavic placed fourth with a time of 1:47.57, giving Tampa another top‑four finish. Mathias Holmann added a seventh‑place finish in 1:48.64. In the B‑final, Tampa scored heavily as Josh Noll (10th overall, 1:48.46), Kasparas Venslauskas (13th, 1:50.54), Jared Allison (14th, 1:50.74), and River Streefland (15th, 1:50.77) each contributed valuable points to the team total.
- 50 Freestyle: Senior Tibor Tistan claimed a runner‑up finish in the men's splash‑and‑dash, clocking a time of 19:69. Junior Riccardo Pandin also reached the A‑final and finished sixth in 20.08.
- 200 Medley Relay: Tampa's A‑relay placed second in 1:25.74, with the team of Rufus Bernhardt, River Streefland, Tibor Tistan, and Riccardo Pandin posting a strong runner‑up performance. The B‑relay added additional points by finishing 11th overall in 1:29.17 behind the lineup of William Beckstead-Holman, Kasparas Venslauskas, Jared Allison, and Alfredo Dominguez.
Top Tampa Performers (Women)
- 1,000 Freestyle: Laura Hodgson earned Tampa's top finish in the event, placing second with a time of 10:00.91. Burlingtyn Bokos finished just behind her in third place, touching in 10:00.94. Morgan Wimberly added a strong fifth‑place effort for the Spartans, posting a time of 10:09.08. McKenna Patrick contributed another top‑six finish by taking sixth in 10:10.42. Alyssa Webb rounded out Tampa's scoring in the A‑final by placing eighth with a time of 10:22.32.
- 200 Individual Medley: Caroline Foltz captured Tampa's first women's individual title of the meet, winning the event in 2:01.36. Sidni Meister also delivered a top‑five finish, placing fifth in 2:03.85. Freshman Caroline Byers contributed a seventh‑place finish in 2:04.48. Lindsey Louder followed in eighth place, clocking 2:04.66. In the B‑final, Carlie Tyler took 10th overall with a time of 2:04.20, while Sofia Krstolic placed 12th in 2:05.69.
- 50 Freestyle: Tilde Morin led Tampa's sprinters with a third‑place finish, stopping the clock at 22.93. Avery Frece added a seventh‑place overall finish in 23.34. Madalee Roberts followed closely in eighth place with a 23.36 performance. Hannah-Claire Jowers won the B‑final to finish ninth overall in 23.69. Sara Safranko and McCall Freiburger also scored from the consolation heat, finishing 12th and 16th with times of 23.77 and 24.15, respectively.
- 200 Medley Relay: Tampa's A‑relay placed third in 1:41.56 with the quartet of Kim McCaffrey, Caroline Foltz, Hannah-Claire Jowers, and Tilde Morin. The Spartans' B‑relay earned 10th overall, as Sidni Meister, McCall Freiburger, Sofia Krstolic, and Madalee Roberts combined for a time of 1:44.19.
