Alaina Williams Leads Way as Tampa Wins Swan City Classic to Open Season
LAKELAND, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's cross country team opened its 2025 season in dominant fashion, capturing the Swan City Cross Country Classic title with 34 points.
Embry-Riddle's Taylor Roth won the individual race in 14:09.6, but Tampa countered with an outstanding group performance, putting five runners inside the top 12.
With their depth and pack running, the Spartans held off Florida Southern (55 points) and Embry-Riddle (67 points) to take the crown and set the tone for the season.
