Spartans Set to Run at NCAA Championships
JOPLIN, Mo. - The University of Tampa women's cross country team will compete at the 2015 NCAA Division II national championships on Saturday.
The 6K race will begin at 10 a.m., on Saturday at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course. Missouri Southern State University will serve as the host institution.
After winning the 2015 Sunshine State Conference and NCAA South Regional championships, head coach Jarrett Slaven's team will compete in the programs 13th consecutive championship event.
UT is coming off a 26th-place finish in the 2014 championships, as it has finished in the national top-10 a total of four times in program history.
Senior Chantalle Blundell has finished first for the Spartans in all five of her races, including an overall second-place finish at the SSc Championship and fifth at the regional. Blundell's top 6K time came at the conference race, as she was clocked at 22:17.10.
The Spartans have a veteran lineup that also features graduate student Juli Boehm, seniors Danielle Kissel and Aimee Epps, and juniors Claudia Cancello and Elaina Cancello.
