Bio
Andres Tirado Yamin was hired in August 2025 as the Assistant Coach for Indoor Volleyball at the University of Tampa. Tirado Yamin will serve as the recruiting and technical coordinator in addition to all his on-court duties. He is an accomplished coach with a strong background in both indoor and beach volleyball.
In his first season as an assistant coach, Tirado was part of a 2025 staff that led the Spartans to a perfect regular season record (28-0) for the first time in program history, and led the program to its 30th SSC title. After clinching its 40th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, Tampa went on to capture its 21st South Region Championship. Tampa finished the 2025 season 32-1 after falling in the NCAA National Semifinal. Tirado coached two Spartans to AVCA All-America honors, including Connor Rahn, who earned first team, and Tess Schrenger, who was named second team. Jenna Davis and Nathaly Perez were honorable mention selections.
Tirado Yamin is no stranger to the University of Tampa, as he began his coaching career in 2019, working with both the women’s indoor and beach volleyball programs. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management in 2020, he served as a Graduate Assistant Coach from 2020 to 2023 while completing his MBA.
During his time at Tampa, he helped guide the indoor team to an NCAA Division II National Championship in 2021 and contributed to the beach volleyball program’s national titles in 2021, 2023, and 2024. After his graduate assistantship, he coached with Miami Volleyball Academy, where he helped young athletes grow their skills and passion for the sport.
Tirado Yamin is married to Melissa Elias, a former volleyball player at the University of Tampa.
