AVCA Announces Regional Awards
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa volleyball program has four first-team AVCA All-South Region selections, the AVCA announced early Wednesday morning. In addition, head coach Brian Imperiale was named the South Region Coach of the Year.
Jenna Davis has garnered All-South Region accolades for the first time in her career. Davis, a senior from St. Petersburg, Fla., was named second team All-SSC this season, making it the second time in her four-year career. Nathaly Perez, a senior from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, has been named All-Region three times and for the second consecutive year, receives first-team nods. Connor Rahn picks up AVCA accolades for the first time in her young Spartan career, as Rahn is just a sophomore. Rahn has been awarded SSC Player of the Week three times this season. Tess Schrenger, an outside hitter from Louisville, Kentucky, was an honorable mention in 2022 and was named second team All-SSC this season.
Imperiale, in his first season as the Spartans' head coach, has helped lead Tampa to its first-ever perfect regular season. He was most recently named SSC Coach of the Year after Tampa claimed its 30th SSC title.
