Spartans Dominate Lions to Close Road Schedule

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

First Set: Tampa started the game off strong with an ace from Kayla Dondero to start a run of eight straight points. As the game steadied out, Connor Rahn scored five points in quick succession with three kills and two aces. These Spartan runs helped Tampa to comfortbaly win the first set by a big margin. | Score: 25-8 Tampa

Second Set: Tampa road the momentum from the first set and started the second set strongly with four early kills by Maddie Sofarelli. With the score at 10-6, Tampa would go on a long run and win 10 of the next 11 points to take yet another commanding lead in the second set. Tampa would take that momentum to close out the second set and take a 2-0 lead in the match. | Score 25-12 Tampa

Third Set: The third set was much more competitive than the first two. The Spartans continued to hold a steady lead for much of the set with multiple kills by Laney Perdue and Tess Schrenger leading to Tampa extending their lead deep into the set. Tampa would pounce on the opportunity to close out the match and win the third set by a larger margin than much of the set was played with. | Score 25-19 Tampa
