Tampa Gets First SSC Road Victory
Lakeland, Fla. - UTampa volleyball continues unbeaten run as the team sweeps Florida Southern to improve to 2-0 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The Spartans dropped the first two points but would go on a run to jump out to a lead over the Mocs. A beautiful setup from setter Jenna Glaudel to Rachel Gregg would give Tampa a 5-4 lead, its first lead in the match. A Connor Rahn kill would put the Spartans up 8-5, and later on, a kill from Gregg would increase Tampa's lead to five. The Spartans would continue to dominate as Tess Schrenger added a kill to put Tampa ahead 16-7. Ana Rivera found Nathaly Perez to put the Spartans ahead 21-10. UTampa would clinch the set 25-15. | Score: 25-15 Tampa
Second Set: The Mocs once again started off with a 2-0 lead over the Spartans. A kill by Schrenger and blocks by Perez and Jenna Davis would level the score at two. The Spartans grabbed the first lead of the set at 6-5 after a Glaudel service ace. From there on out, Tampa would not trail again in the set. Rahn recorded yet another kill after an assist from Kayla Dondero to make it 20-17. Three consecutive kills from Rahn clinched a second-set victory for the unbeaten Spartans. | Score 25-18 Tampa
Third Set: A Schrenger ace gave Tampa a 1-0 lead. Much of the first set would go back and forth until the Spartans scored three consecutive points to put the team out in front, 15-12. Mak Carter registered a kill to get the Spartans in front 17-13. Frehman setter Glaudel added a kill to seal the match for the Spartans. | Score: 25-21 Tampa
