Bio

Mackenzie Dufresne returns to the University of Tampa as a volunteer assistant coach, bringing a wealth of leadership, international coaching experience, and community-driven passion to the program she once called home as a student-athlete.

Since 2022, Dufresne has coached with New Wave Volleyball Club, mentoring athletes in the 15s–17s age divisions and leading with a focus on development, discipline, and team culture. In 2025, she expanded her impact globally, running a series of volleyball clinics in Thailand for the International School of Bangkok, where she coached both beginner and advanced athletes and led multi-session training camps.

Off the court, Dufresne serves as the Communications and Outreach Manager for the Pinellas County Housing Authority (PCHA), where she leads branding, website management, and internal/external communications for one of the largest affordable housing providers in the region. Her work supports nearly 10,000 residents and includes strategic leadership across public relations, staff engagement, and major organizational initiatives to expand access to safe, quality housing.

During her time at Tampa, Dufresne achieved numerous accolades both on and off the court. She was a CSC First Team Academic All-American, an Elite 90 nominee, an All-American, and led all of Dvision II in hitting perecntage in the 2022 season. A proud UT alumna and NCAA National Champion, Dufresne is passionate about paying it forward to the next generation of Spartans by blending her experience as a former collegiate athlete, her current professional leadership role, and her unwavering belief in the power of sports to transform lives. She’s gone from cheering louder for her teammates than herself to now cheering even louder from the sidelines, committed to helping each athlete find their voice, their confidence, and their edge.
