Volleyball Receives AVCA Academic Team Award
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Tampa volleyball team has received the AVCA Academic Team Award for the seventeenth consecutive year.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), in partnership with INTENT, has announced the recipients of the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Awards. In total, more than 1,450 college and high school volleyball teams earned the AVCA Team Academic Award this year by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
Tampa had a 3.65 GPA in the fall and a 3.49 GPA in the spring which was good for a 3.52 cummlative GPA in the 2024-25 year. In addition to earning the award for the seventeenth consecutive time, Tampa was just one of two schools to receive this accolade from the Sunshine State Conference this year.

The membership includes more than 10,000 collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth volleyball coaches—primarily in the United States. The AVCA represents women's volleyball, men's volleyball, and beach volleyball coaches, and works to increase exposure and recognition for the sport of volleyball.
