Top-Ranked Spartans Set to Host October Classic
National Championship Rematch will be part of CSTV National Webcast
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa volleyball team will host the two day October Classic, which will take place at the Bob Martinez Sports Center on Friday and Saturday. The field of teams will be highlighted by top-ranked Tampa (19-1), 13th-ranked Florida Southern (17-6) and UT's opponent in last year's NCAA II national championship match, North Alabama (16-11).
The classic will also include fellow Sunshine State Conference school Rollins (15-11) and Montevallo (7-22) from the Gulf South. There will be a total of two matches on Friday, with Tampa hosting North Alabama at 7 p.m., in a match that will be broadcasted as part of a CSTV national webcast. The other match will pit Florida Southern with Montevallo in a contest that to be played in Lakeland.
Saturday will feature four matches as each will be played in Tampa. Rollins and Montevallo will open the day at noon, followed by Florida Southern and North Alabama at 2:30 p.m. The Spartans then take their home court at 5 p.m., to face Montevallo before the day concludes with a 7:30 p.m., meeting between Rollins and North Alabama.

Tickets may be purchased at the gate. Costs are $5 (adults) and $3 (students and senior citizens) per day. UT students will be admitted for free with a valid ID.
