National Champion Spartans Have Four Named All-Americans
Tampa, Fla. - The AVCA announced its NCAA II All-American selections, choosing two University of Tampa players to its first team. The reigning national champions also had a second-team and honorable mention selection. Senior Stephanie Rivera became the seventh player in UT volleyball history to earn her second All-American selection while Katelen Dixon joined the SSC Player of the Year on the first team. Margeaux Sinibaldi earned second-team honors while freshman Alisha Green was an honorable mention selection.
Rivera and Dixon, who both recorded their 1,000 th kill this season for the Spartans, led a Tampa offensive attack that averaged 17.09 kills per game. Rivera posted a .331 attack percentage and finished the season with 298 kills while Dixon led the Spartans with 443 kills. Sinibaldi led the team with 606 digs while setting a school record for digs in a season as her 1,640 career digs also place her atop UT charts. Green, in her first season, recorded 342 kills with a .325 attack percentage and led Tampa with 116 career blocks.
