Hannah Diete, Allison Murphy Compete at NCAA Championships
EMPORIA, Kan. – University of Tampa women's track and field student-athletes Hannah Diete and Allison Murphy competed at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Welch Stadium.
Diete represented the Spartans in the women's 1,500 meters, finishing ninth in her heat with a time of 4:36.45. She placed 19th overall in the national championship event.
Murphy competed in the women's 400-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 1:05.60 to finish eighth in her heat. She also placed 19th overall nationally.
Neither Spartan advanced to Saturday's championship finals.
The pair became the first Tampa women's runners to qualify for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships since Jess Butler in 2010, continuing the program's return to the national stage.
Tampa men's track and field student-athlete Zach Kehler is scheduled to compete Friday in the NCAA Division II Championship 800-meter event.
