Allison Murphy Sets 400 Hurdles School Record at USF Invite
TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. / CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The University of Tampa women's track team turned in a strong weekend performance at the 2026 South Florida Invitational, held April 10–11 at the USF Track & Field Stadium, while also sending one athlete to compete at the Lee Fast Break Athletics Invitational in Tennessee.
At South Florida, the Spartans were led by an outstanding day in the distance events, highlighted by Camryn Sattler's victory in the 5,000 meters, where she claimed first place with a time of 17:24.5. Tampa added another podium finish as Mary Richmond placed third in 17:44.4, while Bella Noreika rounded out the top 10.
Tampa also shined in the 3,000‑meter steeplechase, where Madelyn Gordon finished third overall in 11:29.9, followed closely by Mia Eberhardt, who placed eighth in 12:05.1. In the 1,500 meters, the Spartans placed multiple athletes in the top 10, paced by Emily Kriney's seventh‑place finish (4:37.1) and Abby Tudeen, who crossed the line in 4:42.7.
In the hurdles, Allison Murphy delivered one of the meet's top performances, finishing third in the 400‑meter hurdles with a school‑record time of 59.25. Murphy was joined by Madi Tweedie and Molly Morris, who also competed in the event.
Tampa's sprint corps showed depth across multiple events, including Sarah Martinez and Chloe Green in the 100 meters, and strong efforts from Taylor Robinson and Marielle Clayton in the 400 meters.
Elsewhere, Hannah Diete represented the Spartans at the Lee Fast Break Athletics Invitational, where she finished fourth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:36.17, competing against a nationally competitive field.
Top Tampa Performers
1,500 Meters:
At South Florida, Emily Kriney led Tampa with a 7th‑place finish in 4:37.1, followed by Abby Tudeen (10th). At Lee, Hannah Diete placed 4th with a time of 4:36.17.
3,000m Steeplechase:
In the women's 3,000‑meter steeplechase, Madelyn Gordon paced the Spartans with a 3rd‑place finish in 11:29.9, with Mia Eberhardt finishing 8th.
5,000 Meters:
In the women's 5,000 meters, Camryn Sattler won the event in 17:24.5, while Mary Richmond added a 3rd‑place finish and Bella Noreika finished inside the top 10.
400m Hurdles:
In the women's 400‑meter hurdles, Allison Murphy set a school record with a third‑place time of 59.25, while Madi Tweedie and Molly Morris also competed.
800 Meters:
In the women's 800 meters, Kendra Krueger led UT with a time of 2:11.1, followed by Kara Bergeron and Ava Stout.
