Raquel Amaro Named SSC Player of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa tennis player Raquel Amaro has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Amaro went 6-0 at #1 singles and #1 doubles on her way to Athlete of the Week laurels as Tampa posted three wins. The Venezuelan tallied wins against the top players at Ferris State (6-0, 6-0), Winona State (6-1, 6-2), and Sioux Falls (6-1, 6-0). Against each team's top duo, Amaro and partner Victoria Sanchez recorded 6-2, 6-3, and 6-0 wins, respectively.

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 6 - 12, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
