Spartans Fare Well In Fall Tournament

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The University of Tampa tennis team turned in a strong showing at the Georgia College and State Fall Championship in its first tournament of the fall season. Molly Welsh and Ally Wooten placed second in the doubles bracket while Welsh and Briana Ryan won their respective consolation brackets.

Kourtney Stark and Victoria Bell competed in the Singles A bracket of the tournament and both advanced to the semifinal round. Both forced a tiebreak in their semifinal match but ultimately lost.

In winning the consolation of the Singles B, Welsh won both of her final matches in decisive third sets. Lisa Montgomery advanced to the semifinal round of the Singles C, while Ryan won in straight sets in each of her matches while capturing the Singles C consolation title.
