Four Spartans Named to All-SSC Women's Swimming Team

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Nineteen student-athletes have been selected to the 2016-17 All-SSC Women's Swimming Team. Voting for the team was conducted among the Sunshine State Conference men's swimming coaches.

A total of four swimmers represented the University of Tampa as 2016-17 all-SSC selections, headlined by first-teamer McKenzie Street. The trio of Marisa Barton, Brittany Bayes and Sophie Long were each named to the second team.

Nova Southeastern, the 2017 SSC Women's Champions, boast seven honorees including five First Team award winners. Florida Southern College, Saint Leo University, and University of Tampa were also represented in the league awards this year.

SSC Records / Top Times | All-SSC Teams

Courtney DeVeny and Malin Westman (Nova Southeastern) along with Natalia Garriock (Saint Leo) receive First Team All-SSC honors for the third consecutive year. Emma Wahlstrom (Nova Southeastern) earns First Team for a second straight year.

Jacinda Whittenburg and Georgina Allin jump up to First Team after Second Team honors in 2015 and 2016. NSU's Madison Yelle and UT's Street round out the First Team selections.

Coach of the Year, Swimmer of the Year, and Freshman of the Year will be voted on by league coaches following the NCAA Division II championship. This year's NCAA Championships takes place March 8th - 11th at CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. For a full list of SSC qualifiers, click here.
