Tampa Tops Savannah College in Swimming Action
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams each handed Savannnah College of Art & Design a loss, defeating SCAD by a combined score of 324-195. The UT men were victorious 165-92 while the women won 159-103.
On the women's side, Dana Glodek registered a national cut by winning the 200 Fly with a time of 2:06.30. UT's women opened the race with a 200 Medley Relay victory by Ellie Eschleman, Allison Vetter, Dana Glodek and Stephanie Branham with a time of 1:52.50.
Tampa also got victories in the 200 Free by Jessie Bardin (1:56.19), 100 Back by Eschleman (1:00.58), 50 Free by Branham (25.94), 200 Back by Eschleman (2:11.80), 100 Fly by Lindsay Calimer (58.92), 200 IM by Jennifer Jenkins (2:14.33), 200 Free Relay by Vetter, Branham, Bardin and Kim Tench (1:41.87).
In men's action, UT won the 200 Medley Relay as Matthew Kramer, Alex Hetland, Paul LaPorta and Mike Verdi took the victory with a time of 1:36.08. The Spartans also took victories in the 200 Free by Chris O'Linger (1:44.30), 100 Back by Kramer (53.85), 100 Breast by Hetland (56.06), 200 Fly by Daniel Hernandez (1:56.60), 500 Free by Hunter Lineback (4:46.44), 200 Backstroke by Patrick Murray (1:59.93), 200 Breast by Hetland (2:11.08), 100 Fly by Roman Dagesh (53.18) and the 1,000 Free by Lineback (9:55.70).
Tampa returns to action on Friday, November 7, when it hosts Indian River College at 3:30 p.m.
