UT Set to Host #6 Rollins for Wednesday Night Matchup
Tampa will be looking for their first SSC win this season
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa Women's soccer team will host the #6 Rollins College Tars for a midweek Sunshine State Conference matchup. This will be the first official SSC game for Rollins this season as they took on provisional member #20 Embry-Riddle last Wednesday and fell 1-0 in 2OT at Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Spartans will be looking to even their SSC record at 1-1 after falling in their first game to Nova 3-2 on Saturday night. Despite trailing 2-0 at the half, the team put on a strong comeback attempt in the second half to tie the game but fell just short. On offense, Nastasia Asgedom and Lauren Cicero have led the way as they both have one goal and one assist . In net, Sydney Ross has played every game and has 15 saves this year.
Rollins will look to Kathryn O'Brien to lead the offense. The sophomore has put the ball in the back of the net eight times on the year, while also dishing out three assists, for a total of 19 points while senior Paxton Sickler has tallied six points, on two goals and two assists. Freshman Kelly Rowswell has seen the majority of the time in net for Rollins, making 14 saves, while surrendering just four goals.
