Five Spartans Earn All-SSC Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The 2015 All-Sunshine State Conference women's soccer team selections were announced via the SSC office Thursday afternoon. Among the 22 players selected the Tampa Spartans had five players garner All-SSC honors.
Earning first-team honors for Tampa were Cici Gonzalez, Miranda Gonzalez, and goalkeeper Caroline Frykgard. Representing UT on the second-team were Lauren Moore and Nastasia Asgedom.
Cici Gonzalez leads the team in scoring tallying ten goals and registering two assists on the season. She has started all 17 games for the Spartans and led the team with 22 points. This year's first-team selection marks the fourth of her career.
Miranda Gonzalez has been a vital member of the Tampa defense, which has turned in three clean sheets on the year, and been tenacious all season not to mention being a key piece to the offense, notching one goal, and four assists.
Frykgard earns her second straight All-SSC selection, after notching a record of 11-2-4 and turning in 74 saves and boasting a goal against average of .93. Also, she has recorded a save percentage of .831 tallied three shutouts
Moore has registered four goals, and eight points on the season appearing in all 17 contests for UT. The Tampa, Fla. native ranks in the top five in six different categories, and is the all-time leader in penalty kicks attempted.
Asgedom has been a breakout newcomer for Tampa as she has dished out four assists and notched five goals of her own; she is tied second on the team with 14 points.

Tampa heads into the SSC women's Soccer Championship semi-final as the No. 3 seed, they will face No. 2 seeded Nova Southeastern Sharks on Friday, Nov. 6 at 4:30 p.m. on the campus of top-seeded Barry University.
