Tampa Plays To Scoreless Tie With North Florida In Exhibition Opener
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's soccer team traveled to the University of North Florida where is finished the 90-minute contest with a scoreless tie against the NCAA Division I Ospreys.
The Spartans held the advantage with 12 shots, compared to seven for UNF. Samantha Kay, Sara Kneeland and Renata Figueira were each credited with two shots. Kay, Lindsay O'Bryan and Caroline Spencer also had a shot on goal apiece, accounting for UT's three shots on goal.
Saige Steinmetz started in goal for Tampa, logging just over 66 minutes of play. She registered two saves as Caitlin Fox also had a pair of saves in the final 23-plus minutes to preserve the tie.
