Women's Lacrosse Seeded No. 3 in SSC Tournament, Will Face Lynn
ORLANDO, Fla. - The 11th Sunshine State Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament opens Saturday, April 18th, with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting first-round matchups. Semifinals will be played Thursday, April 23rd, at the campuses of the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds. The championship game is set for Sunday, April 26th, at the site of the highest remaining seed.
The 2026 SSC Women's Lacrosse Tournament features six nationally ranked squads competing for the title, further cementing the SSC as one of the toughest women's lacrosse conferences in the nation.
At the top sits Florida Southern College, which claimed the regular-season title outright after an undefeated run through conference play. The Mocs earn the No. 1 seed and bring with them a tradition of success, capturing at least a share of the regular-season crown for the ninth time since the sport's debut in 2015. Florida Southern enters postseason play ranked No. 2 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division II Coaches Poll.
Saint Leo University follows as the No. 2 seed after finishing 6-1 in SSC play, with its only loss coming against the Mocs. The Lions surged late in the season, jumping six spots in the latest IWLCA poll to No. 4. Both Florida Southern and Saint Leo earned first-round byes and will host semifinal matchups.
No. 3 University of Tampa hosts No. 6 Lynn University in a rematch of an early-season thriller that saw the Knights edge the Spartans, 14-13. Tampa closed conference play at 4-3, while Lynn finished 3-4. The two programs enter the tournament ranked No. 8 and No. 9 nationally, respectively.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 Florida Tech. The Eagles defeated the Panthers 11-10 just a week ago. Embry-Riddle is ranked No. 6 nationally, while Florida Tech is No. 13.
Tiebreaking procedures were conducted by the SSC staff in accordance with the conference's lacrosse seeding protocols.
NCAA Division II postseason for women's lacrosse begins with regional play on Thursday, May 7th at non-predetermined sites and concludes with the national championship on Saturday, May 23rd at Tiger Stadium in Rochester, New York. The NCAA will announce postseason selections on Sunday, May 3rd.
