Spartans Surge Past Palm Beach Atlantic in 23–2 Rout
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance Saturday afternoon at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex, rolling to a 23–2 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic University. With the win, the Spartans improve to 9-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
How It Happened
Tampa wasted no time establishing control, scoring eight unanswered goals in the opening quarter. Free-position goals from Jenna Myhal and Josie Bullock helped ignite the early run, while Peyton Howell added three first-quarter finishes as the Spartans overwhelmed the Sailfish defense.
The momentum carried into the second quarter as Tampa added five more goals. Myhal found the back of the net twice in the frame, and Sia Markowski capped the half with a goal in the final minute to send the Spartans into the break with a 13–1 lead.
Coming out of halftime, Tampa continued its efficient attack. Mary Kate Person scored twice in the third quarter, while Howell and Markowski added to the tally as the lead grew to 19–1 entering the final period.
Palm Beach Atlantic opened the fourth quarter with a goal, but Tampa responded with four more scores from Audrey Kahoun, Kaitlin Price, Person, and Taylor Bergey to seal the 21-goal victory.

- Barbosa played the full 60 minutes in goal, making six saves while allowing just two goals.
- Tampa's dominance showed in the details, finishing perfect on clears (15-for-15), converting all four free-position attempts, and committing just one foul throughout the contest.
