Bayle, Toennessen Earn WGCA Postseason Honors
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's golf team earned national recognition from the Women's Golf Coaches Association, as Justine Bayle and Ruth Toennessen were both honored with postseason awards following the 2025-26 campaign.
Bayle was selected to the WGCA Division II All-America Second Team while Toennessen earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades. Both Spartans were also named to the WGCA South All-Region Team.
Bayle capped off an outstanding season by leading Tampa with a 74.50 scoring average across 20 rounds. The sophomore recorded five top-10 finishes during the year, including medalist honors at the World Golf Invitational after carding an even-par 216. She also finished tied for fifth at the NCAA Division II Women's National Championship with a three-round score of 221 (+5). Bayle added top-10 performances at the William Beall Fall Classic, Lady Moc Classic, and Patriot Invitational while compiling a 496-61 head-to-head record during the season.
Toennessen also turned in a stellar season for the Spartans, finishing second on the team with a 75.03 scoring average over 29 rounds. She registered four top-10 finishes, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Lady Moc Classic after shooting a three-round 219 (+3). The sophomore also placed fourth at the Patriot Invitational and tied for fifth at the Sunshine State Conference Championship. Toennessen totaled a 593-151 head-to-head record during the 2025-26 campaign while helping lead Tampa throughout the season.
The WGCA announced the Division II postseason awards on Wednesday, recognizing the nation's top golfers across NCAA Division II.
