Spring Season Underway as Tampa Concludes Flagler Invite
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - After four fall events, the University of Tampa women's golf team carded an 11th-place finish at the World Golf Invitational, which was hosted by Flagler College at Slammer & Squire at WGV.
Tampa had rounds of 338 and 343 to finish with a 681, or +105. Seminole State College won with a 592, followed by Flagler (611), UNC-Pembroke (616) and Armstrong (617). UT was the lone Sunshine State Conference school at the tourney.
Kendra Bishop finished in a 13th-place tie, recording a total score of 155 (+11). Bishop's best round was a 77 on Monday after firing a 78 on Sunday.
Other members of head coach Missey Jones' lineup included Brittany Bradshaw (163), Fatin Amin (171), Allie Steffens (192) and Kelsey Kennedy (201).
The Spartans are back in action on Feb. 25-26 at the Florida Southern Invitational. The event will be played at The Club at Eaglebrook in Lakeland, Fla.
