Women's Basketball 2025-26 Schedule Release
TAMPA, Fla – The University of Tampa Women's Basketball team has announced the highly anticipated 2025-26 season schedule. Head coach Tom Jessee enters the 2025-26 season coming off an impressive 26-7 overall record for the 2024-25 season, making both a Sunshine State Conference tournament and an NCAA South Regional tournament appearance.
The Spartans will continue to prepare for their season in late October with three exhibition matchups. October 20, at 6:30 p.m., the Spartans will face St. Petersburg College at the Bob Martinez Athletic Center. October 24th at 6 p.m., they'll see Hillsborough Community College at home. To wrap up exhibition play, the Spartans will head to Tallahassee for a scrimmage against Florida State University on October 28.
In November, the regular season will get underway as the women's basketball team hits the road for two back-to-back tournaments. Nov. 7–8, they'll travel to Denton, Texas, facing Harding University and Southwest Minnesota State as part of the Texas Women's Tip Off Classic. Nov. 14–15, the Spartans will go to Cleveland, Tennessee, to face Alabama Huntsville and Lee University as part of the GSC/SSC Classic hosted by Lee. The matchup with Lee will be a familiar one, as the Spartans saw the Flames last year in a tightly contested NCAA South Regional game. Nov. 19, the Spartans will return home to face Colorado Christian at 7 p.m.
Nov. 22 will mark the start of Sunshine State Conference play with an away meeting at Nova Southeastern University at 2 p.m. The conference opener will give the Spartans a rematch opportunity with Nova Southeastern after falling to the Sharks in last year's conference semifinal. To close the month, Tampa Women's Basketball will host the Tampa Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 28-29. The Spartans will take on Davis & Elkins on Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. and Bemidji State on Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. In December, the Spartans will briefly resume conference play with a matchup on Dec. 3 against Eckerd. Then they'll be back on the road, Dec. 13 they'll travel to Rollins College, and then to Lynn University on the Dec. 16. To close out non-conference play, the Spartans are headed across the country to Las Vegas, Nevada, Dec. 20-21, where they'll face Montana State Billings and Texas A&M University-Kingsville as part of the Sports Tours Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
January dives deep into conference play with five home games and three road matchups. Highlighting the month, the Spartans will host Florida Southern on Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in a rivalry showdown and Nova Southeastern on Jan. 31 at 2 p.m., while traveling to Embry-Riddle on Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. Embry-Riddle enters the season as the defending conference champion.
In February, the schedule features four road games and four home matchups. The Spartans will travel to Eckerd on Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m., Barry on Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m., Florida Southern on Feb. 21 at 4 p.m., and Saint Leo on Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. Home contests include Embry-Riddle on Feb. 7 at 2:00 p.m., Rollins on Feb. 14 at 2 p.m., Lynn on Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m., and finally, the team will celebrate senior day on the last home matchup against Palm Beach Atlantic on Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. Following the regular season, the Spartans will compete in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament from March 3–8, aiming to secure another berth in the NCAA Tournament, which begins with the South Regionals from March 13–16.
