No. 3 Clayton State Defeats Tampa
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's basketball team lost its first game of the season against No. 3 Clayton State in a final showing of 64-48.
The Spartans had a tough match-up early on as they were challenged defensively by the Lakers. Keke Jones led her squad with seven points at the half.
UT managed to take advantage of Clayton State's turnovers and battled for second chance points early on in the second period. Despite their fight to narrow down the lead, the Spartans could not find an answer for the Lakers.
Jones finished the contest with 15 points and seven rebounds, both team highs.
