Spartans Drop To No. 17 In Latest Top 25
LILBURN, Ga. - After a week in which the Spartans went 1-1, The University of Tampa women's basketball team dropped three spots to the No. 17 position in the latest USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll. Tampa suffered just its second loss of the season, a 52-50 road decision to Lynn. UT's pair of defeats has been by a total of three points.
The Spartans - who peaked at 12th earlier this year - have been featured in every poll thus far this season for a streak of six consecutive rankings.
While no other Sunshine State Conference team is in the top 25, Florida Southern continued to receive votes. South Region foe Delta State maintained its position at second and received three first-place votes this week.
The team that handed Tampa its first loss - Columbus State - also received votes this week.
