Tampa Softball Selected to NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Tampa softball team has earned an at-large berth into the 2026 NCAA Division II Softball Championship and will travel to Saint Leo for the NCAA South Region Championship beginning Thursday, May 14.

The Spartans enter postseason play with a 34-12 overall record and are the No. 5 seed in the South 1 Regional hosted by Saint Leo University at Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium in St. Leo, Florida.

Tampa joins top-seeded and nationally top-ranked Saint Leo University, fourth-seeded Auburn Montgomery, and eighth-seeded Spring Hill College in the four-team regional bracket.

The South Region Championship features a double-elimination format, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Super Regional scheduled for May 21-22 at the highest remaining seed.

Tampa enters the NCAA Tournament making its 16th appearance in program history and owns a 33-32 all-time NCAA Tournament record. The Spartans captured their first South Region Championship in 2025 during a historic postseason run that culminated in the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship Series. Tampa finished the 2025 season as the NCAA Division II National Runner-Up after advancing through regional and super regional play on its home field before reaching the national finals in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Spartans have now reached NCAA postseason play in five consecutive tournament appearances dating back to 2019 and have hosted multiple regional and super regional events during that span.

All games will be streamed live on the Sunshine State Conference Digital Network, while live statistics will be available through StatBroadcast.

Fans attending the regional are encouraged to utilize the parking lot near the softball and tennis courts for tailgating activities. Alcohol is prohibited in both the parking lot and stadium.
