Weekend Preview: Spartans look to finish strong before the NCAA tournament

WEEK 13

No. 1 University of Tampa Spartans Softball team took two out of three from St. Leo this past weekend and clinched the outright regular-season SSC champion hardware. The Spartans will travel to Boca Raton for its last regular season series of the 2023 campaign.

SSC Teams with National Rankings: #1 Tampa, #11 Saint Leo

Tampa

• The Spartans took home the regular season SSC title this past weekend after taking two of three from No. 11 Saint Leo. They will head into their final week of regular season play with an overall record of 37-3 and 25-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. The No. 1 Spartans will travel to Boca Raton as they take on Lynn to finish off the season with a series sweep and a 40-win season for the first time in program history.

• After getting swept by Nova Southeastern this past weekend, the Fighting Knights have an overall record of 21-28 and 9-18 in conference play. Despite the losing record, Lynn looks to end their season on the right path with an upset over the No.1 team in the country this weekend.
