Weekend Preview: Spartans Head Across the Bay for a Series Between Eckerd

The Tampa Spartans Softball team swept Florida Tech this past weekend and will travel across the bay as they take on Eckerd for a 3-game series this weekend.

SSC Teams with National Rankings: #2 Tampa, #13 Saint Leo

Tampa

• The Spartans swept Florida Tech at home this past weekend. They improve their winning streak to 8 straight, their overall record to 29-2, and their conference record to 17-1. They sit alone at the top of the SSC and NFCA rankings. Tampa Spartans softball is still sitting at No.2 in the NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll for a third straight week. Tampa will take on Eckerd this weekend across the bay as they look to move into the one spot in front of North Georgia.

Eckerd

• Despite their 20-15 record, the Tritons struggled late in SSC play. They are currently ranked last in the SSC standings with a 5-13 record in conference play. Additionally, the Tritons were on a 13-game wins streak, but they are now on a 6-game losing streak. They look to take down No.2 Tampa this weekend in upset fashion.
