Morrow Captures Third POW

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of Tampa's Julia Morrow has been selected Sunshine State Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season.

Morrow, a senior from Baiting Hollow, N.Y. had another strong week on the mound for the Spartans as she went 3-0. She threw three more complete games against conference foe Florida Southern, two of which were shutouts.

The Tampa senior gave up just one hit over the seven innings while striking out 13 batters in game one. In game two, she threw a second straight shutout against the Moccasins while adding 10 more strikeouts. Morrow threw her third straight complete game and gave up one earned run on six hits to complete the three game sweep of the Mocs. She threw all 21 innings of the series while allowing just one earned run on 11 hits. The Spartan senior also struck out 33 opposing batters without surrendering only one walk.

UT will be back in action on Thursday at Eckerd for an SSC series opener with the game set to begin at 6 p.m. Live stats will be made available through www.tampa.statbroadcast.com.
