No. 24 Tampa Set for Double-Header Against PBA
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 24 University of Tampa softball team is set to take on Palm Beach Atlantic University in a double-header on Saturday at Vince Naimoli Softball Field.
Head coach Leslie Kanter has the team off to a 9-3 start, as pitching has been the team's strong suit. Starters Deanna Henriott and Kayla Cox have combined for a 1.39 ERA with 132 strikeouts and 43 hits allowed.
The Sailfish currently hold a record of 13-6. However, the Spartans have had the better of the Sailfish in past meetings in which they hold an all-time record of 6-4.
Tampa has defeated Palm Beach Atlantic once so far this season at the Eckerd College Invitational by a score of 7-0. Cox hurled her fist no-hitter at UT in the game, as she went 7.0 innings with 12 strikeouts.
The double-header will commence at 1 p.m. with the second game to follow.
