Tampa Continues National Softball Ranking
STARKVILLE, Miss. - The University of Tampa softball team continues its reign in the national softball rankings at No. 12 in the NFCA Division II poll.
Currently 29-4, Tampa is already off to its best start in school history and has also set the program record with 12 consecutive victories this season.
Last week the Spartans were No. 10 spot in the poll and capped the week with a 4-1 showing. Head coach Leslie Kanter's Spartans swept Webber International and took two of three from Sunshine State Conference opponent Saint Leo.
Tampa is one of five NCAA South Region teams as Alabama-Huntsville (1), Valdosta State (5), Rollins (7) and Arkansas-Monticello (18) also appear in the top-25.
SSC and national implications will be on the line this weekend as Tampa and Rollins are set to meet for a three-game set in Winter Park. Friday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
