Tampa Continues Rise In National Softball Rankings
STARKVILLE, Miss. - The University of Tampa softball team has continued its upward trend in the NFCA Division II poll, moving up two spots to No. 13 in the current release.
Tampa is one of five NCAA South Region teams as Valdosta State (2), Alabama-Huntsville (3), Arkansas-Monticello (6) and Rollins (17) also appear in the top-25.
Currently 20-3, Tampa is off to its best start in school history and has also set the program record with 12 consecutive victories this season. UT is coming off a series victory over Sunshine State Conference opponent Nova Southeastern University as it took two of three games from the visiting Sharks.
The Spartans return to action on Friday in another SSC series, hosting Florida Tech. Friday's game is slated for 7 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader at 1 p.m.
