Softball Holds On To Regional Ranking

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Tampa softball team is ranked seventh in the current NCAA II South Region rankings with a pair of Sunshine State Conference series' on the horizon.

At 25-8, UT will finish the regular season at home as it faces the task of hosting defending SSC and South Region champion Barry followed by regional No. 2 Florida Southern.

The top eight teams in the region will compete in the NCAA South Regional, which is scheduled for May 9-10 at a pair of campus sites.

The Spartans host Barry on Saturday at 6 p.m. and close the series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday.
