Tampa Places Two on All-SSC Team
ORLANDO, Fla. – Fourteen student-athletes are named to Sunshine State Conference Men's Cross Country All-Conference Teams following the 2025 conference championship. University of Tampa runners William Poe and Elijiah Rivera were each honored. After capturing its 20th league title, Florida Southern College nabs six All-SSC honors, including Coach of the Year.
League coaches voted for Runner, Freshman, and Coach of the Year awards, while runners who finish Top-14 at the 2025 SSC Women's Cross Country Championship earn All-SSC status. Tampa hosted this year's championship at Holloway Park in Lakeland on October 25th.

On October 23rd, conference coaches selected Nick Scarangelli and Taye Newman from Embry-Riddle as Runner of the Year and Freshman of the conference, respectively. For more information on these awards, visit the following link.
Matt Levassiur repeats as Coach of the Year by his peers after leading Florida Southern to a 20th SSC title. The Moccasins won the conference championship with a 29-point lead over the field after runners finished 1-5-6-8-11 to earn 31 points. Regular season highlights for FSC include a victory over eight squads at the Hoka Nights of Thunder meet, a win over seven teams at the FLrunners.com Invite, and second-place finishes at the Swan City Invite and Ed Holloway Classic. Levassiur remains the fourth FSC head coach to win the honor.
FSC's Christian Giller and Christopher Colavita highlight the repeat All-SSC honorees following their third consecutive All-SSC First Team honors. Giller, the back-to-back conference champion, was also named Runner of the Year in 2024. Nick Scarangelli from Embry-Riddle and Cole Summers from FSC also repeat as First Team selections from 2024. FSC's Anthony Matthew earns a third All-SSC honor for his career following a First Team selection in 2023 and a Second Team nod in 2022. Florida Tech's Ben Peck rounds out the repeat All-SSC winners following a Second Team honor last season. Scarangelli, Matthew, and Peck were all previously named Freshman of the Year.
