Spartans Place Among Top Finishers at FSU Invite
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's cross country team turned in a solid performance at the FSU XC Invitational, finishing 7th overall in a field of 34 teams at Apalachee Regional Park. The Spartans put together a balanced team effort, placing five runners in the top 75 and securing a team score of 233 points with a 26:00 average per runner.
Tampa's lineup was led by Zachary Kehler, who clocked 25:35.4 to finish 30th overall. He was closely followed by William Poe at 25:46.1 (37th), and Elijiah Rivera, who crossed in 25:51.8 (41st).
The Spartans' depth came through with Ayden Estevez finishing in 26:08.6 (53rd) and Brandon Witherow posting 26:38.4 (72nd). Rounding out the top seven for Tampa were Isaac Perez (26:47.5, 86th) and Luke Kain (26:47.5, 87th).
Against a competitive field featuring nationally ranked NCAA Division I and II programs, Tampa showcased strong pack running and consistency throughout the 8K course. Their 7th-place finish placed them ahead of Sunshine State Conference opponents.
