Tampa Cross Country To Host Annual Spartan Challenge 5K
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa cross country team will host the annual Spartan Challenge, partnering with the UT Board of Counselors. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15 at 8 a.m., beginning at UT's Pepin Stadium.
The event will include completion of a distance of 5 kilometers, or 3.1 miles, as well as running through tires, jumping over hay bales and crawling through cargo nets all against the backdrop of the beautiful and historic campus.
Members of the community along with UT students, family members, faculty, staff, alumni and anyone else that would like to participate are welcome. Proceeds support UT cross country scholarships.
The course is not your typical 5K road race. It includes running
through tires, jumping over hay bales as well as crawling under a
cargo net. All of this is around UT's historic campus. Last year's
race featured a gorgeous day with sunshine, weather in the 60's,
plenty of excitement and more than 440 runners participating.

may register through www.active.com as on-site registration
and race packet pick-up will begin at 7 a.m.
