Joshua Noll Named First-Team Academic All-American
TAMPA, Fla. — University of Tampa men's swimmer Joshua Noll has been named a 2025-26 First-Team Academic All-America® selection, as announced by College Sports Communicators.
Noll becomes just the 12th student-athlete in University of Tampa history to earn first-team Academic All-America® honors and is the first in program history from men's swimming to achieve the distinction.
A junior majoring in finance, Noll holds a 3.88 GPA and was one of 11 student-athletes named to the NCAA Division II first team. His selection places him among the nation's elite performers both in the pool and in the classroom.
Noll was a key member of Tampa's 2026 NCAA Division II National Championship team, contributing to one of the most successful seasons in program history. He qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200 backstroke, 200 butterfly, 200 freestyle, and as part of the 800 freestyle relay. Noll played a pivotal role in the Spartans' success in relays, earning Sunshine State Conference championship honors and capturing a national title as a member of the 800 freestyle relay.
Prior to Tampa, Noll competed at Auburn University, where he was named to the Dean's List all four semesters and earned SEC Honor Roll recognition. He has continued his academic success at Tampa, also being recognized as a CSCAA Scholar All-American.
Since 1952, the College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as CoSIDA, has recognized the nation's top student-athletes for excellence both academically and athletically through its Academic All-America® program. Sponsored by Capital One, the honor requires student-athletes to be at least in their second year of residence, maintain a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA, and be a starter or key contributor. Nominees are selected by institutional athletic communications staffs, advance through All-Region voting, and are ultimately placed on the national ballot voted on by CSC members across the country.
Noll's selection marks another milestone for the Spartans, as he becomes Tampa's 63rd Academic All-American across all sports, the third in men's swimming history, and the first men's swimmer to earn the honor since 2014. His achievement further highlights the continued success of Tampa student-athletes in balancing elite athletic performance with academic excellence.
