Jacob Hamlin Nets Third SSC Swimmer of the Week Honor
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's swimmer Jacob Hamlin was recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season. The award was announced on Monday and is sponsored by Pollo Campero.
Hamlin put together a dominant distance showing at Tampa's tri-meet versus Minnesota and Notre Dame. He captured first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:07.67, finishing one second ahead of the rest of the field, which contained swimmers from two nationally competitive programs. Hamlin followed that performance by earning third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:28.91. This is the third time Hamlin has earned the Swimmer of the Week honor this year.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of December 29 - January 4, 2025. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
