Jacob Hamlin Presented as SSC Swimmer of the Week
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's swimmer Jacob Hamlin was honored as the Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week following a number of standout performances at the 2025 Gamecock Invitational.
Hamlin delivered a standout showing at the 2025 Gamecock Invitational, earning NCAA Division II "A" cuts in both the 1650 free (fourth, 15:11.17) and 500 free (runner-up, 4:17.48). He also picked up an NCAA D2 "B" cut in the 200 fly, qualifying 10th in 1:48.89, and posted a 43.73 split on Tampa's A 400 free relay that finished fifth in 2:55.11. Hamlin added a prelim swim in the 200 free (1:48.89). He contributed across multiple relays throughout the meet, helping the Spartans finish as team runner-up and outscore host South Carolina for the third straight year. The weekly award is the fourth of his career.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their regular-season performances during the week of November 17 - 23, 2025. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
