Alfredo Dominguez Named SSC Swimmer of the Week
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's swimmer Alfredo Dominguez has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office. The award is presented by Pollo Campero.
Dominguez was instrumental in Tampa's dual meet wins against No. 12 Florida Southern and at Rollins. Against FSC, the Miamian claimed first in the 50 free with a time of 20.60 and first in the 100 free with a NCAA "B" cut of 45.14. He also swam anchor on Tampa's second-place 200 free relay team. At Rollins, Dominguez tied for first in the 50 free at 20.76, then was victorious in the 100 free with another NCAA "B" cut of 44.86. He also led UTampa to a 200 free relay win with a 20.43 split.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their regular-season performances during the week of October 13 - 19, 2025. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
