Spartan Swimmers Capture Several Academic Awards
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams were well represented as collegeswimming.com and the College Swimming Coaches Association of America announced the Academic All-Americans for the 2007-08 year. The UT women's Team finished second in the country as numerous individuals earned Academic All-American status.
For the women, Susanna Ashley (4.00 GPA), Stephanie Branham (4.00 GPA) and Hannah Hudson (3.87 GPA) received Academic All-American awards, while Jennifer Jenkins (4.00 GPA) and Kelsey Lubbers (3.52 GPA) received Honorable Mention Academic All-American status.
On the men's side, Tyler Furrer (4.00 GPA), Michael Verdi (4.00 GPA), Roman Dagesh (3.82 GPA), Patrick Murray (3.67 GPA) and Daniel Hernandez (3.53 GPA) each received Academic All-American recognition while Paul LaPorta (3.52 GPA) was an Honorable Mention Academic All-American.
