Spartans Finish Strong to Seal Dominant Win

COLUMBUS, Ga. — The No. 9 University of Tampa men's soccer team returned to Georgia and took care of business against Lincoln Memorial.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

First Half: 

Neither team was able to find the break through in the first half. Fouls made it difficult to find a rhythm for both teams and both teams were only able to record 1 Shot on Goal. Cherif Tammar came to the rescue to keep the Splitters' only Shot on Goal out of the net. The Spartans were able to fend off the pressure from the Splitters as they were outshot 4-2.

Second Half: 

One minute into the second half, Rodrigo Lopes struck again! This time with assists by Viggo Svedin and Leonard Bogeskar. Much of the remainder of the second half looked like the first half without many shots either way until the 82nd minute when Lorenz Offner added to the Spartan lead with an assist from Lopes. 2 minutes later, Charlie Curtis put the icing on the cake with a third goal for the Spartans.

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Jacob Entlich and Andy Obregon both made their Spartan debut.
• Lopes has scored at least one goal in 4 straight matches.
• Offner and Curtis both netted their first goal of the season with Curtis scoring for the first time in his career. 
• Four Spartans played the full 90 minutes; Luca Bergmann, Jannik Brengel, Alex Hare, and Tammar.
