3-Goal Week Earns Rodrigo Lopes a Weekly Award
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's soccer standout Rodrigo Lopes has been tabbed the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as presented by Pollo Campero,
Lopes scored all three of Tampa's goals in a 1-0-1 road trip against No. 13 North Georgia and Clayton State. The Lisbon, Portugal native got the Spartans on the board early in a neutral-site 1-1 tie with North Georgia. The forward found the back of the net in the third minute, assisted by Christian Fairchild. The senior followed with a two-goal performance in the Spartans' 2-1 victory at Clayton State. Lopes knocked in the equalizer in the 51st minute from a William Waters assist and netted the unassisted game winner in the 56th minute. For the week, he tallied six shots, four on goal, in his 116 minutes on the pitch.
