Spartans Set to Host Badgers for Sunday Morning Matchup
After defeating West Florida 4-2 in the season opener, UT looks to move to 2-0 on the season
TAMPA, Fla - The University of Tampa men's soccer team will host the Spring Hill College Badgers tomorrow morning for their second game of the season at 11 a.m. at Pepin Stadium. The Spartans are coming off a 4-2 victory over the university of west Florida Argonauts in their season opener on Friday afternoon.
UT will be looking to build on the success they had in the first game that saw the team combine for 17 shots in the game and holding the visitors to six shots. The team will be taking on a Spring Hill squad that is coming off playing 110 minutes in their opener and will have spent their off day traveling down from Mobile, Ala. to Tampa which could be an advantage for the home team.
Sophomore midfielder Fredinho Mompremier has already scored two goals on the season which is half of the total that he had last season. Having scored four goals in 11 games played, Mompremier will be looking to keep the goals coming and surpass his goals scored early on this year. Ramzi Toure and Jason Collister each had their first goals of the new year against UWF to complete the four goals for the team.
